WASHINGTON, D.C., May 18, 2015 (LifeSiteNews.com) – Basing his comments on "my own Christian faith," President Obama told the Catholic-Evangelical Leadership Summit that churches should spend less time focusing on abortion and same-sex “marriage.”
After reading this, I say more than ever we need to pray for our elected government officials. We need to pray for those running for office. Personally, I can no longer tell much of a difference between Dem and Rep when it comes to their stance on enacting laws that protect the unborn and the sanctity of marriage. Basically, the POTUS is telling churches that there are more important things to focus on than abortion of the unborn and the family structure in our country. What does he think? The government has a better idea when it comes to family health and structure? Does he and others occupying government jobs really believe they can tell families how to rear children and conduct family business better than a Father and Mother? He, other political leaders, and 'wannabes' have no knowledge of the Holy One when it comes to these issues.
How can we seriously invoke the Mighty God in prayer for blessing when we raise hands that are covered in the blood of the innocents? How can we ask God to bless the families in our country when we as a nation have turned every which way from what God has ordained as a healthy family between one man and one woman?
As 2 Chronicles 7:14 admonishes, we must ask God for forgiveness and bring repentance if we expect to ever see great blessings on this country again. As it is now, unless we repent, I believe our Lord will give us exactly what we deserve.
Remember Israel's history, God chose David, "A man after my own heart." David was a blessing to Israel and helped the nation to follow God and be faithful. Later, when the nation turned from the Lord and followed idols, God sent them Ahab and Jezebel. Are we about to see this happen to us, or has it already happened? You be the judge.
There is nothing more important today than for pastors and churches to rise up in holy conviction and speak: 'Thus saith the Lord'. It will not be a popular message, but if it is truth, then let truth be heard. Hear what God said to Joshua, "Be strong and very courageous!"
There is no place in scripture where God's people are told to take a 'back seat' when it comes to speaking and standing for truth. The problems we see today have come because that's exactly what we have done taken a back seat, bury our heads in the sand, look the other way, put our fingers in our ears and pretend that everything will eventually get better.
No, the only way things will get better, is when God's holy people determine to seek their Lord and His righteousness, and stop compromising with evil. This coming election is too important for God's people to sit by and cluck their tongues, hoping everything will 'turn out alright'. Get involved! Research the candidates, READ your Bible, and VOTE!
May God be pleased to bless us again,
GOD'S WORD STANDS FOREVER
