What a joy to see someone come to the realization that God truly loves them even though they have sinned against Him. God’s love is so rich and so deep it’s baffling to our comprehension. His love is so vast, if you tried to measure God’s love the heavens themselves could not hold it. His love is everlasting, it will continually be shown and enjoyed by the Redeemed throughout all eternity. All we can do on this earth is try to accept that God loves us through His Son Jesus Christ. He showed this love for us on His cross. Romans 5:8 says, “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.” Love so amazing, so divine, demands my life, my soul, my all. Have you personally experienced His love? Let me give you four areas where you can rejoice concerning God’s love for you:
1) Nothing can prevent God from loving you; Romans 8:32 says, “He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things”? Did you see that? Because of Jesus sacrifice for us, God can freely and fully love us, in spite of our sinful past.
2) Romans 8:35, “Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?” That tells us, nothing we do in the future could stop God from loving us. Jesus paid it all, past, present and future. You and I are lovingly secure in the heart of God.
3) Nothing you can do to deserve God’s love. If Christ paid ‘it all’, and the Father freely gives all things to us, what can we do to deserve God’s love? Nothing we do can ever match what Jesus has already done for us. Praise God! The simple fact is, we are NOT deserving, but God wants to show His love to us. Jesus made that possible.
4) Nothing we can do to make God love us more. Romans 8:37 “Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us”. Again, a victorious statement! God loves us completely, entirely, and perfectly. We of course grow in love with Him every day, and so we should, but God’s love is already perfect. He loves you just as much today as yesterday, and tomorrow will be just as perfect.
You see, God has this all figured out. We just rejoice and enjoy what He has provided for us through His Son Jesus. Say a prayer of thanksgiving to God for His love for you, and ask that He help you grow more in love with Him every day.
